Why should you be excited about Hastings College Forensics?

The Hastings College Forensics Team is a co-curricular activity grounded in education. The goal of the coaching staff is to provide each student with the resources and feedback needed to become an accomplished speaker. The coaches at Hastings College believe that successful competition and trophies are the result of a strong educational philosophy. Additionally, the coaches support a fun social atmosphere where students get to know each other.

The Hastings College speech team is a family-away-from-family. Hastings College has had a long tradition in forensics. It is this tradition that has been recognized throughout the district and the nation. For his contribution to forensics, numerous awards have been posthumously named after Kevin Heineman, the team director from 1988 to 1996. On June 9, 1920, Hastings College became one of the first colleges in the nation to become a member of Pi Kappa Delta, the national forensics fraternity. Since then, the HC forensics team has distinguished itself as among the best in the nation.

The Hastings College Forensics Team is centered out of the Gray Center. Stop by and see us, or contact our Director of Forensics, Kittie Grace at kgrace@hastings.edu or Assistant Director, Michael Mahanes at mmahanes@hastings.edu.
