The accounting program prepares students for careers in public accounting, private accounting, and other organizational settings, as well as graduate school. The Liberal Arts Program prepares students for life-long learning. Students obtain the tools necessary in today’s changing world. Communication and computer skills are taught in addition to the traditional business and accounting knowledge. Hands-on-learning is emphasized through class projects and internships. Accounting students can meet the 150 hours required to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam in Nebraska and those surrounding states that have a 150-hour requirement.
Recent graduates have secured jobs as a/an: Auditor, Computer Installation Specialist, Controller, Financial Advisor, Manager, and Staff Accountant.
Previous graduate accomplishments have graduates working for the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Governmental Accounting Standards Board, and International Accounting Standards Committee.
