AgriBusiness Major

About the Major
The Agribusiness major blends courses in business and agriculture to give students a balance between the decision-making framework of business and the technical aspects of modern agriculture.
Students are given the opportunity to build expertise and experience while preparing for a career in the dynamic Agribusiness industry.
The Program
Hastings College has partnered with the Hastings Central Community College (CCC) to provide the Agribusiness major. Students complete the Hastings College Liberal Arts Program and Business Administration major and then take 22-24 hours of agriculture classes at CCC.
Starting the first semester of their sophomore year, students in the program receive a voucher from Hastings College good for 3-4 hours per semester at CCC for agriculture classes.
The Agribusiness major teaches the application of business concepts to the agriculture industry. Courses within each component include:
Agribusiness involves 1 in every 4 jobs in Nebraska and 1 in every 5 jobs in the United States. Agribusiness is also international in scope, with many U.S. companies operating throughout the world.
Students majoring in Agribusiness are prepared for a vast array of career opportunities in industries such as accounting, finance, marketing, management and sales.
