The South Central Nebraska Childrfen's Chorale, in residence at Hastings College, is an exciting, not-for-profit vocal training program for young singers with unchanged voices currently in grades 4-8.

Instruction and programming are designed to develop well-rounded student musicians through the study of vocal and performance techniques, music history, music reading skills, and social interaction with other children who share an interest in the art of choral music.

The Chorale rehearses and performs a variety of music from all historical periods and styles. Starting in September, Chorale members attend weekly rehearsals from 4:30-6:00 on Tuesday afternoons.

Our annual performance season includes a Christmas  

concert with the Hastings Symphony Orchestra and a Spring concert at the French Memorial Chapel on the Hastings College campus.

In case of inclement weather anywhere in the South Central Nebraska region, rehearsal may be cancelled at the Director's discretion.  SCNCC does not follow any particular school's closing policy; consideration is given to the safety of all members in the region.

If you are an area student who is interested in participating in the South Central Nebraska Children's Chorale, you are invited and encouraged to audition each September for the current season of rehearsals and performances! Our friendly and supportive audition includes singing "America" unaccompanied with a starting pitch of F, echo-clapping simple rhythms, echo-singing simple melodies, and singing a simple round, chosen by the director.  Open to all area students in grades 4-8.
