Although you may be recognized and honored for more than one special skill, your financial aid award will only reflect a scholarship from one area of your choice.
For best consideration, we recommend you complete your admissions application by February 15th and your talent scholarship requirements by March 15th. For more information about any of these scholarships, contact your admissions counselor.
- Art – Submit a portfolio of artwork so our art professors can see a sample of your work.
- Athletics – Talk to our coaches, submit a game video and/or a letter of recommendation from your high school coach. Visit Hastings College Bronco Athletics for more information. .
- Theatre – Audition on campus with a memorized one-to-three minute cutting from a play.
- Media – The Journalism and Media Arts Department awards scholarships for majors and non-majors in the following three areas:
o Journalism: Submit two to three pieces of individual writing used in a school newspaper or yearbook.
o Radio: Submit an audio recording.
o Television Broadcasting: Submit a video. Aid is available for on-air and technical positions.
- Music – Audition one or two music selections with contrasting styles, either on campus or at a Hastings College-sponsored honor band or choir tryout. Scholarships are available for vocal and instrumental performance
- Speech/Forensics – Audition on campus with any speech you have used in high school competition.
