Volleyball

2011-12 Volleyball Team

Hastings College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and therefore, has a philosophy that matches the NAIA’s commitment to high standards and the principle that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of our total educational program.

The Hastings College volleyball team epitomizes this belief. Our volleyball team is perennially one of the best in the NAIA and the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). At the same time, many student athletes are named NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes, while the team as a whole often has the best overall GPA in the GPAC. The GPAC consists of 13 private colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

The team has also been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as the nation’s best in the NAIA for its achievements in the classroom.

On the court, the Broncos generally play 16 conference matches plus additional tournaments and matches across the Midwest and the country. The team is highly competitive in a strong conference and can often be found in the GPAC tournament finals and NAIA regionals.

The team hosts an annual tournament in the fall with colleges and universities from across the country participating. To promote sound fundamentals and team play, the team hosts a number of camps during the summer for junior high and high school girls.
