About Clayton Anderson
Clayton is a 1981 graduate of Hastings College, where he majored in physics. After a summer internship at NASA's Johnson Space Center, he began work on an MS in aerospace engineering at Iowa State University. From there, Clayton joined NASA full time, eventually being accepted into the astronaut-training program in 1998. In June 2007, he began a 152-day mission (STS-117) onboard the International Space Station, a duty that included three spacewalks totaling 18 hours. In April 2010, he was part of a resupply mission to the station (STS-131). During that mission he performed three more spacewalks, spending another 20 hours outside the station.
