HC Cell Phone Film Fest

Friday, February 24, 2017 to Saturday, February 25, 2017
HC campus and vicinity

Students will have 24 hours to make a short film (max. 5 minutes) using only their cell phone cameras. Required theme/prop will be revealed at kickoff meeting at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24. Prizes include money ($300 total) and Rivoli movie passes. Films/awards to be presented at the Lark at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7.

Women’s and Gender Studies keynote speaker for Women’s History Month this year:

On Thursday, March 2 at 7pm, in French Memorial Chapel, poet Marty McConnell will present, “Conjuring Survival: the role of magic in art, activism, and defusing despair.”

Her presentation will be open to the public and likely of particular interest to those studying communication, art, English, psychology, education, sociology, WGS, and more. She is a powerful performer. She will also be leading a writing workshop while she is here.
