College Possible - On Campus March 13th
College Possible will be in HSU on Monday, March 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the concourse area.  College Possible is currently accepting applications for AmeriCorps service members with locations including Chicago, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Omaha, Philadelphia and Portland.  Positions include serving as a College Possible Coach as well as positions in communications, program & curriculum, strategic planning and research.  Make plans to stop by their table to learn about these unique and valuable opportunities.

2nd Annual Pi Day Celebration Tuesday, 3.14
Don’t miss the 2nd Annual Pi Day Celebration at Perkins Library on Tuesday, March 14! If you would like to donate a pie for our pie baking contest, bring it to the library between 8:00 a.m. and Noon on Tuesday. If you want to eat pie, bring $2.00 for a slice starting at 1:00 p.m. and lasting as long as the pie does. If you want to see who gets a pie in the face, come at 4:00 p.m.. Or better yet, come earlier and donate to the person you want to see pied in the face. All donations go to the HC Student Development Fund.

"Sober Indian, Dangerous Indian"
There will be a free documentary screening of "Sober Indian, Dangerous Indian" Tuesday, March 14 7:00 p.m. at the French Memorial Chapel with an update on Whiteclay following the presentation.

Auditions for "Eurydice"
Theatre Department Auditions for EURYDICE by Sarah Ruhl are Tuesday and/or Wednesday March 14 and 15 7:00 p.m. at Scott Studio Theatre.

Castings for HC Summerstage
HC Summerstage Presents THE VAMPIRE June 9, 10/ 16, 17 at 7:00 PM June 11 and 18 at 2:00 PM. Rehearsals begin May 21 in the evenings. Open to Students, Faculty, Staff and Community Actors.

    Central Platte NRD-Ron Bishop College Program
    The Central Platte NRD provides 10 students with $1,000 scholarships who are pursing a natural resources education.   Guidelines and applications may be picked up from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Application Deadline is March 22, 2017.

    Oregon Trail Community Foundation Scholarship
    The Oregon Trail Community Foundation offers several scholarships.  Go to: for applications and requirements.  The application deadline is April 1, 2017.

    Burke Scholarship
    The family of Raymond Burke is offering (2) $2,000 scholarships to two full-time students pursuing careers in natural resources related fields.   A list of additional qualifications and applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.   Application deadline is April 21, 2017.

    Honeywell Scholarship
    The Horatio Alger Association is pleased to announce the Honeywell scholarship program for students studying in the fields of (STEM) (science, technology, engineering, or math).   Ten scholarships at $10,000 each will be awarded to students pursuing STEM degrees who have critical financial need.  Go to apply and for additional information.  Application deadline is March 15, 2017.     Lower Republican Natural Resources District Scholarship
    The Lower Republican Natural Resources District is offering two scholarships to students majoring in a natural resources field.  Each scholarship is worth $1,000.  Guidelines and applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Application deadline is April 1, 2017.     Lincoln Builders Bureau Scholarship
    The Lincoln Builders Bureau offers a $750 scholarship to employees of a Lincoln Builders Bureau member company, or the child of an employee.  Go to to confirm a member company.  Award are based on academic performance, work experience, school involvement, community involvement and career goals.  Applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Application deadline is April 1, 2017.

    Nebraska Agri-Women Scholarship
    The Nebraska Agri-Women are offering a $250 scholarship to a student receiving an Agricultural related degree from a Nebraska college.  Additional guidelines and applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Application deadline is April 15, 2017.

    B. Davis Scholarship
    The B.Davis Scholarship in the amount of $1,000, is available to students currently registered in any post secondary institution. Guidelines and additional information is available at: Application deadline is May 22, 2017. (052217)

    Azazie Scholarship
    The Azazie Scholarship Program is offering a $1,000 scholarship available to
    freshman and sophomore college students.  Details about this scholarship may

    Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
    The Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program is offering up to a $1,000 scholarship to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. Students will need to submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of the following web site:  Application deadline is June 12, 2017 (061217)

    Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship
    The Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship is for female students who will be student teaching during the 2017-2018 school year, graduated from a high school within Lincoln County, and has at least a 3.0 grade point average in college.   The scholarship is worth $500.  Applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Applications must be submitted by July 1, 2017.
