Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries - on campus February 21st!
Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries (NLOM) will be on HC campus Tuesday, February 21st, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in HSU. NLOM is recruiting for their 2017 summer ministry team at both of their camp locations. NLOM has many different types of positions available including counselors, lifeguards, communication interns and more.  If you are interested in finding a summer position, please make plans to visit their table.

Speaker: Airickca Gordon-Taylor
Airickca Gordon-Taylor will deliver an address titled "Our illusions avert inclusion within your surrounding community." She replaces Jasmine Rand, who was unable to travel to Hastings due to a family obligation.
Details: Thursday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the French Memorial Chapel.
This event was organized by the Hastings College Multicultural Student Union and the Black Student Alliance.

Free Film Screening: "Sober Indian Dangerous Indian"
Hastings College Theatre Department presents a Screening of the Documentary: "Sober Indian Dangerous Indian" with an update on Whiteclay following on Friday, February 24, 7:00 PM in the French Memorial Chapel.

    2017-2018 Student Teacher Organizational Meeting
    Attention  2017-2018 student teachers: There will be a required organizational meeting for all Education majors planning to student teach fall 2017 or spring 2018: Wednesday, February 22nd, 12:00 noon, HM 220 or Friday, February 24th, 10:00 a.m., HM 220.

    Topics to be covered include:

    • Applying to student teach
    • Prerequisites and standards that must be met
    • Registering for student teaching
    • Placement choices

    4th Annual HC Cell Phone Film Fest
    For the fourth year in a row, The Hastings College Cell Phone Film Fest is calling all HC students to; "Grab your phone, Call some friends, Make a Movie." Don't miss the Kickoff meeting Friday, Feb. 24 in JDAC 101 at 6PM,  where the required prop and theme will be revealed! All Films due February 25 at midnight. On Tuesday, March 7, 7-9 p.m: Screenings/awards presented at the Lark. There is $300 in prize money from SA and 10 two-for-one Rivoli passes.

    Landscape paintings from Kiechel Fine Art collection coming to Jackson Dinsdale Art Center
    Landscape paintings from the collection of Kiechel Fine Art in Lincoln, Nebraska, will be on exhibit at the Hastings College Jackson Dinsdale Art Center Gallery from Feb. 13 to March 17. A reception in honor of the exhibit will be held in the JDAC on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

    Curtis Elliott Memorial Scholarship
    The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska Foundation is now accepting applications for the Curtis M. Elliott Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Guidelines & Applications may be picked up from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Application deadline is March 1, 2017. (030117)

    Maggie Thompson Memorial Scholarship
    The Maggie Thompson Memorial Scholarship is for applicants with disabilities.  The scholarship amount does vary and may range up to a $500 scholarship.  Information may be picked up from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office. The application deadline is March 1, 2017. (030117)

    Lincoln Public Schools Association of Office Professionals Scholarship
    Graduates of Lincoln Public Schools majoring in the field of Business are invited to apply for the $1,300 Dianne Grieser Memorial Scholarship. Applications can be picked up from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office. The application deadline is March 10, 2017. (031017)

    Honeywell Scholarship
    The Horatio Alger Association is pleased to announce the Honeywell scholarship program for students studying in the fields of (STEM) (science, technology, engineering, or math).   Ten scholarships at $10,000 each will be awarded to students pursuing STEM degrees who have critical financial need.  Go to apply and for additional information.  Application deadline is March 15, 2017.     Lower Republican Natural Resources District Scholarship
    The Lower Republican Natural Resources District is offering two scholarships to students majoring in a natural resources field.  Each scholarship is worth $1,000.  Guidelines and applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Application deadline is April 1, 2017.     B. Davis Scholarship
    The B.Davis Scholarship in the amount of $1,000, is available to students currently registered in any post secondary institution. Guidelines and additional information is available at: Application deadline is May 22, 2017. (052217)

    Azazie Scholarship
    The Azazie Scholarship Program is offering a $1,000 scholarship available to
    freshman and sophomore college students.  Details about this scholarship may

    Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
    The Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program is offering up to a $1,000 scholarship to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. Students will need to submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of the following web site:  Application deadline is June 12, 2017 (061217)

    Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship
    The Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship is for female students who will be student teaching during the 2017-2018 school year, graduated from a high school within Lincoln County, and has at least a 3.0 grade point average in college.   The scholarship is worth $500.  Applications are available from Kim Poplau in the Financial Aid Office.  Applications must be submitted by July 1, 2017.
